The College of the Redwoods Library

In the library at the Community College of the Redwoods
I do my librarian dance feeling connected and needed
As an observant and hardworking reference librarian
At the Library known as the Learning Resource Center
I am happy and so very awed to work in such an institution
Of thought, explorations, that support research and learning
What brought me here? I continually ask
My experience, adventures, luck or is it a cosmic test?
My fortune exists because of hard work, needing to learn, to discern
Seeing the reasons, so many thoughts- it’s how we all advance
Literature, music, math, science, the arts are such expressions
Of the human soul searching for meaning and true occupations
In these halls of thought, full of reflections and repose
The library is always a place to keep me and others on their toes
In the library at the Community College of the Redwoods
I do my librarian dance: it’s a place of peace, where to go to grow
