Reaching 70

Small steps to begin while my little eyes stare, always watching.

It is little me, I remember so far back to babytime.

How do I grow, who do I know, how do I manipulate my parents and siblings?

Childhood dilemmas soothed by trees, beaches, the big sky and stars so bright.

But the cold wind blows, and the hot sun shows I learn to get by.

Around and around the sun goes each year I hold on, and am told

so many myths, some truths until I figure out my own song and story.

Struggling to survive, with near misses with death, but continuing to be me

I count the years go by-step by step, one by one, bite by bite

I survive surely, safely even in the time of the Pandemic?

Love leads, but good old persistence and survival strategy rules.
